Chris Ofili
Former winner of the Southbank Award & the Turner Prize, Chris Ofili’s exhibition at the Tate Britain is a must see. I hadn’t heard of him before, but after watching an interview with the much acclaimed artist and seeing his incredible work, i’m heading down to the Tate for a gallery jam. Maybe its just me but can anyone else see similarities in style between Ofili and Basquiat? It’s hard times out here but this is well worth the £10 entry fee (£8.50 concessions). Book a ticket here. More pics after the jump. (more…)

Autonomic
The 15th of February see’s the release of FABRICLIVE 50: dBridge & Instra:mental present Autonomic. I managed to get a chance to hear the mix on promo and boy it’s VERY SERIOUS.
In my opinion dBridge & Instra:mental along with their labels Exit and NonPlus+ are pushing things forward in every sense, not just in drum & bass but electronic music as a whole. Their work may not be to everyones taste and certainly is not always built for the tear out dance floor heads, but thats just it, why should it be? They are creating some amazing music and that’s all I care about. I believe the scene needed some new life and this is exactly what these guys are bringing to the table.

I’m New Here
After a lengthy break from music and living outside of the public domain for many years Gil Scott Heron is back with his brand new album I’m New Here. His voice that spoke for a generation decades ago still sounds as fresh and more importantly as relevant today. You can check the new album in its entirety by clicking the link below.
